NPFL: Plateau United snap teenager from Nasarawa United

2022/2023 CAF Champions League campaigners, Plateau United have signed midfielder Tochukwu Micheal.

 

Tochukwu Micheal joined Fidelis Ilechukwu’s tutored side on a free transfer from Nasarawa United.

 

The 18-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Jos based-club till the end of the 2022/2023 season.

 

Michael was part of the Nasarawa United side that finished the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season in the sixth position with 53 points from 38 game.

 

The acquisition of midfielder is to add his youthful strength to Plateau United as the team prepares to face Tunisian side, Esperance in the CAF Confederation Cup.

 

The first leg will take place in Jos on Sunday, October 9, 2022, with the return leg slated for Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi, Rade

 

The return leg will take place on October 15, 2022, with the winner of the game qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

 

The loser of the game will drop to the final Preliminary Round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

 

Plateau United defeated Stade Mandji of Gabon 3-2 on aggregate in the previous Preliminary Round.

 

The team finished second at the end of the 2021/2022 NPFL season is tutored by former MFM FC and Heartland FC coach, Fidelis  Ilechukwu and currently I’m this season’s CAF Champions League.
