Rangers International FC were held to a goalless draw by a determined Bayelsa United FC side in a captivating Matchday 23 NPFL encounter, at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
Despite creating multiple scoring chances, Rangers were unable to find the back of the net, with Bayelsa United’s goalkeeper, Elkanah Godgift, and captain Gabriel Biriduba delivering crucial performances to keep the visitors from scoring.
Rangers’ coach Fidelis Ilechukwu made tactical substitutions, hoping to unlock the resilient Bayelsa United defense, but his side couldn’t break through.
The visitors were left to regret missed opportunities, including a late chance from Godwin Obaje, whose cross was cleared off the line by Bayelsa’s defense in the dying moments of the game.
Rangers will now focus on bouncing back when they face league leaders Remo Stars in their next fixture on February 16.
