NPFL: Rangers made decision on Ogunleye marching order against Ikorodu City

Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enugu Rangers have announced that star midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye will face further sanctions following a needless red card received during the match against Ikorodu City.

Ogunleye was sent off on Wednesday during the club’s Matchday Two rearranged fixture in Lagos, which Rangers won 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Ugwueze.

His unsportsmanlike conduct put additional pressure on the team and nearly jeopardized their victory.

Technical Adviser of the Flying Antelopes, Fidelis Ilechukwu, expressed disappointment with Ogunleye’s attitude, emphasizing that indiscipline will not be tolerated within the squad.

“I’m really saddened by this. If you lack discipline, you pay a high price,” Ilechukwu stated.

“We won’t just exclude Ogunleye from the next match; there will be further punishment. The referee’s decision is final, and that’s something we’ve been stressing to our players.”

Rangers will face Remo Stars next in Ikenne on Sunday.
