Katsina United’s latest signing, Segun Adekunle, has expressed his excitement ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, describing his move as a fresh opportunity to prove himself at the top level.
The 23-year-old striker joined the Chanji Boys from Kwara United on a two-year deal and is expected to bolster Coach Muhammed Audu’s attacking options.
Speaking after his unveiling, Adekunle said he is fully committed to helping his new club achieve success in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
“Joining Katsina United is a new opportunity, and I’m ready to give my best to help the club achieve its goals this season,” he said.
Adekunle also expressed gratitude to his former club, Kwara United, where he made his top-flight debut and won the 2025 President Federation Cup.
“I’m thankful for everything Kwara United has done for me and I wish them the best always,” he added.
Katsina United are aiming to improve on last season’s performance and have been active in the transfer market as they prepare for the new campaign.
