NPFL: Sporting Lagos coach Offor gives reasons for poor result against Doma United

Head Coach of newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League side, Sporting Lagos, Paul Offor has attributed his side’s disappointing goaless draw against Doma United to unfortunate injuries.
The ‘Noisy Lagosians’ had their brilliant start to the season snapped by Doma United who defended so well to share the spoil in the Matchday Three encounter decided at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The tactician, who was disappointed with the result, commended his boys for their zeal just as he reassured fans of the club’s quick resurgence to make up for the lost points.
“It was a difficult game. Difficult because we lost two players in the first half and we were forced to make two changes and we were left with the minimal options in the second half,” Offor told media.
“We missed our chances as well and when you don’t take your chances in games like this you get punished and that is what we’ve learnt from this game today.
“The most important thing for me today is the performance of the players. In the dressing room during the break.
“I saw the desire in them to win and with the way they played in the second half and even the first half you saw that they really want to win this game.
“They really played their heart out so I’m super proud of my players but we’re very conscious of the things we need to improve for our next game and is our action in the front of goal,” he said.
Next for Sporting Lagos is their first Southwest derby against Remo Stars on Sunday in Ikenne.
