NPFL: Stanley Eguma tasks Enyimba to consolidate on Lobi Stars victory

By Wale Mustapha

Enyimba FC Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma, has urged his players to maintain and build on their winning momentum following their 1-0 victory over Lobi Stars.

The People’s Elephants secured their first win of the second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on Monday, with Ifeanyi Ihemekwele’s first-half goal sealing the crucial three points and ending the club’s six-game winless streak.

Eguma praised the team’s performance, calling it a positive step forward while urging them to continue improving.

“It was a good performance and an important result. We drew at home, and now we’ve won away,” Eguma said after the game.

“I joined the team recently, and the players are beginning to understand my philosophy, just as I am getting to know them better. This growing understanding is what led to this result.

“We are gradually moving past our struggles from the first round, but our position on the league table still worries us. Our focus is to improve our standing,” he added.

Enyimba will next travel to Akwa United for their upcoming match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
