NPFL: Tunde Sanni blames profligacy for Kwara United’s loss to Rivers United

By Wale Mustapha

Kwara United’s Technical Adviser, Tunde Sanni, has blamed his team’s attackers for their 2-1 defeat to Rivers United on Sunday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Harmony Boys conceded early to the hosts and were unable to recover, as Rivers United turned the game around to claim victory in the Matchday 17 encounter.

A visibly frustrated Sanni expressed his disappointment with his team’s performance, particularly in front of goal.

“This is disappointing and unfortunate, there’s no way we should be losing this type of game,” Sanni said.

“We lost the game by ourselves, we squandered the opportunity because the chances came but we failed to take advantage.”

Following the defeat, Kwara United now sit in 13th position with 22 points on the NPFL table.
