Kwara United’s Technical Adviser, Tunde Sanni, has attributed his side’s 2-1 loss to Niger Tornadoes to numerical deficiencies and a lapse in concentration during their Matchday 21 encounter in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Harmony Boys were down to 10 men for much of the game after Issa Gata was sent off in the first half, leaving them to battle their North Central rivals with a numerical disadvantage.
Despite the setback, Sanni believes Tornadoes were fortunate to secure the victory, emphasizing that his team displayed resilience despite the challenging circumstances.
“Niger Tornadoes were a bit luckier in this game due to the red card and the careless goals we conceded,” Sanni remarked.
“But I think we showed good character to have played with 10 men for that long. We did have some good spells during the match, and we will surely build on those positives moving forward.”
The defeat leaves Kwara United in 12th position on the NPFL table, with 26 points from 20 games.
Looking ahead, Sanni is focused on preparing his team for their next fixture, as Kwara United will face El-Kanemi Warriors in a Matchday 22 encounter at home in Ilorin.
