Bayelsa United captain Gabriel Biriduba says his team is ready to take on any team in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season ahead of their opener against Dakkada FC at the Samson Siasia stadium, Yenagoa on Sunday.
Newly promoted Bayelsa United will be playing their first game in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2022/2023 season following the Yenagoa side’s return to the country men’s topflight since relegation in 2015.
Speaking ahead of their opener, Biriduba believes the team’s unity and understanding will count as a plus in their quest to remain in the topflight beyond the current campaign.
“For the time being that we have been together in training, playing friendly games and I feel the team is really ready to take on Dakkada or any other team in the NPFL,” he told Bayelsa United TV.
“The unity is okay, the players are doing things very well which is, we understand ourselves here in unity and we are ready to go all out on Sunday against Dakkada.”
A win for Bayelsa United will give them a dream start to their campaign in the abridged league this season as the NPFL winner will go home with a whooping N100m prize money as all clubs recieved take-off grant of N10m.
