Head Coach of Heartland Queens, Obi Ogbala has expressed delight with his girls’ performance in the 1-1 draw against Remo Star Ladies.
The Owerri-based club were held to a stalemate by their counterpart from Ikenne in the Matchday 12 of Nigeria Women’s Football League on Wednesday.
The encounter saw the Queens giving a spirited display to share the spoils and Ogbala insists that a win would have been more appreciated but assured his team will improve on their performance in the remaining matches.
“My girls played well, they didn’t lose any steam in the game, the players played to instructions throughout the encounter,” Ogbala told the media.
“We will continue to work on them, I think Imolites have seen the best of Heartland Queens irrespective of the criticism. The players are new together and gradually we will continue to get the best out of them.”
The result leaves Heartland Queens in the sixth position on the log with nine points.
Their next encounter will be against Dannaz Ladies in Lagos next Wednesday.
