NWFL Premiership: Domo Okara worried by Bayelsa Queens’ goal-scoring problem

By Monsurah Olatunji
Bayelsa Queens head coach Domo Okara is concerned by their inability to find the back of the net on a regular basis despite his side returned to winning ways courtesy of a 2-0 away win against Royal Queens in Warri.
Goals from Mary Aderemi and Flourish Sabastine was all the Prosperity Girls required to bounce back from last week barren draw at home to Heartland Queens at the Warri City Stadium.
And head coach Domo Okara has hailed his players for playing to instructions against the Warri outfit but insists there still a lot of work to do to improve on their finishing this season.
“They played to instructions even though we played well in the last game but we couldn’t score,” the 45-year-old told journalists.
“We worked so hard in training on how to score goals because it’s goal scoring that is our problem even when we played in the continent. Our opponents in [Wednesday]’s game are very tough but because we kept the ball on the floor people felt it was easy.
“The fact that we drew at home doesn’t mean we are not good, we are still a team to contend with. My dream is to return to the continent. The early kickoff (2 pm) worked for us because sometimes we trained around that time, when they said the match is 2 pm I was happy inside my min,” he concluded.
After three games, the Nigeria Women’s Premier League Premiership title holders will head on for yelutide break and are expected to return to action on January 4 against Osun Babes in the matchday five encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
