NWFL Premiership: Organizers announce Yuletide break after four matches

The Nigeria Women Football League( NWFL) organizers have confirmed that the season will proceed on break to allow players enjoy the yuletide with their loved ones and prepare mentally for the challenges ahead.
The 2022/23 season of the league commenced on November 30 and it has reached match day four with six matches played across centers week-in week-out for the past three weeks.
The abridged league has 14 teams seeded into two groups of seven clubs each and the top three from each group will face off in the grand playoff of Super 6 to crown the ultimate champions.
At the end of the round four games, Delta Queens are leading group A with nine points from three games ahead of the defending champions Bayelsa Queens who are in second position with seven points from three matches.
In Group B, Edo Queens are dictating the pace with nine points in four matches while Nasarawa Amazons are second with seven points from three matches.
According to the football body, the league activities return with match day five fixtures on the 4th January, 2023.
