NWFL Premiership: Winning is our aim this season, says Omotoke Ogunfuwa

By Saheed Afolabi

Dannaz Ladies playmaker, Omotoke Ogunfuwa, believes that the key to success for the Lagos-based side in the 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership season is winning their matches consistently.

The Cedars have secured one win in their opening two games and will face Ekiti Queens in their next match on Wednesday, January 29, at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

Ogunfuwa, who was instrumental in their victory over Confluence Queens, is determined to build on that momentum as they face tougher opponents.

“We gave our best against Confluence Queens, and our next game against Ekiti Queens will be much better,” Ogunfuwa told nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.

The free-kick specialist is confident in her team’s abilities and assured that the squad won’t be intimidated by any opponent this season. She emphasized the importance of communication and teamwork to improve their performance moving forward.

“We will be communicating more this season for us to win more matches. We will not fear any team because equally we are also a good and young side,” she said.

Ogunfuwa also acknowledged the significance of consistent victories, explaining that winning matches is essential for securing a strong position on the league table and potentially earning a playoff spot.

“Our target this season is to win matches because winning guarantees us a healthy position on the league table and can also seal a playoff spot,” she added.

As Dannaz Ladies prepare for their upcoming clash with Ekiti Queens, Ogunfuwa’s leadership and determination will be crucial in driving the team toward their goals this season.
