NWFL: Sabo Okala unhappy over Confluence Queens draw with Dannaz

By Wale Mustapha
Head Coach of Confluence Queens, Sabo Okala has expressed displeasure at how his team kick started their new Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL season with a goaless against newly promoted side, Dannaz Queens on Wednesday.
The Lokoja based club adopted Edo State University, Iyahmo Stadium as their home ground after the Confluence Stadium failed the integrity test of the league board.
However, they were favorite to win the match a youthful Dannaz side which reflected in their performances with total dominance as what could have earned them the slim win came as a penalty in the penalty in the second half that was placed wide by Amarachi Okoronkwo.
Coach Okala who, joined the team from Honey Badgers drew positives from the match in terms of the team’s cohesion but insists there’s much still need to be done.
“I must be candid with you that I’m not happy with the result because that’s not what we envisaged,” Okala told Nigeriafootball.ng in Iyahmo.
“We came with the mindset to win which will set us up on a very sound footing, but then again, we need pick our words carefully so as not to demoralized the girls.
“They did really well with the playing, build up and defending but I’m not too okay with the finishing which was the core of most of our trainings, we will go back and restrategize to be more perfect on where we are not doing well.”
Up next for Confluence Queens is an away encounter against Adamawa Queens slated for Pantami Stadium in Gombe next Wednesday.
