Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo continued his sparkling form in the Saudi Arabia Premier Professional League as he scored both goals in Al Hilal’s 2-0 humbling of Al Nassr led by football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles’ striker converted two spot kicks, one in each half in the Saudi top flight encounter at the MRSOOL Park in Riyadh to go top of the scorers’ chart with 18 goals.
The first of the spot kicks came in the 42nd minute when the referee spotted an infringement in the box and the former Manchester United forward sent the keeper the wrong way.
At the restart, Al Hilal started the same tempo in which they finished and they were awarded the second penalty with just two minutes after the hour mark which Ighalo converted superbly to bag his brace of the match.
Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al Nassr side stepped up their game and looked dangerous on the flanks as they went in search of a possible comeback, and were almost level in the 77th minute but a VAR review cancelled the effort.
Al Hilal held on to claim the win with a clean sheet that has moved them closer to Al Shabbab in third position.
