Odion Ighalo’s wife calls for Jose Peseiro’s exit, suggests Super Eagles successor

Sonia Adesuwa Ighalo, the wife of Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has advised the NFF to employ the coach of Saudi Arabia Herve Renard following their historic 2-1 win over Lionel Messi’s Argentina.
Renard is the first coach to win the Africa Cup of Nations title with two different teams – Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire and also took Morocco to first World Cup in 20 years in 2018 before guiding the Western Asia nation pulling off an upset against 2022 World Cup favorites Argentina, ending the North Americans’ 36 matches unbeaten run.
Underlining the shocking result from Group C opening match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina and Adesuwa took to social media to call for Renard’s appointment as Super Eagles coach despite having Jose Peseiro on the job.
“He is a master tactician. We need him now,” she wrote on her official instagram page.
Underpressure Peseiro, on the other hand, has only won two matches against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe) from nine since became the Super Eagles head coach in June.
With just six months left on his one-year contract, the Portuguese is rumored to be owned six month’s salary by the NFF and could consider leaving his role.
However, Renard may be out of the NFF budget as he currently earns about $120,000 a month compared to Peseiro’s $50,000.
