Super Eagles midfielder, Bello Babatunde has completed his move to join Egyptian Premier League side, Future FC.
Babatunde was one of the 13 new signings unveiled by Future FC on Wednesday through the club’s official Facebook page.
The young midfielder had a remarkable 2021/2022 season with both Sunshine Stars and Aka United.
Scouted by Coach Deji Ayeni in 2021 when he was with the Nigerian National League, NNL side, Ekiti United, Babatunde followed his coach to Sunshine Stars at the start of 2021/2022 NPFL season.
The schemer would then depart the Owena Whales with his tactician midway through the same season when he was appointed as Technical Adviser of Akwa United.
Babatunde scored 11 goals for both teams in the same season and provided a handful of them.
His stellar performance in the just concluded season handed him a place in the Super Eagles B team where they played against Ghana for the African Nations Championship, CHAN but failed to qualify for the tournament proper.
Babatunde is expected to continue with his development at Future FC, a team campaigning in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Future FC was formerly owned by the Egyptian branch of The Coca-Cola Company since its establishment in 2011 until 2021.
Coca-Cola’s last season under that name witnessed their promotion to the 2021–22 Egyptian Premier League for the first time in their history, as they finished top of their group in the 2020–21 Egyptian Second Division.
On 2 September 2021, Future company for sports investments announced the acquisition of the club for a reported fee of £E80 million (approximately €4 million), and renamed the club to Future FC.
