Nigerian striker Anthony Ijeoma has taken the next big step in his career, signing a three-year contract with Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League side FK Radnik Bijeljina.
The deal marks his first move to Europe after impressing for both Abia Warriors in the NPFL and the CHAN Eagles on the continental stage.
The 22-year-old forward, who was unveiled on Sunday, September 14, received a warm reception from club officials and supporters at the club’s Bijeljina City Stadium.
His arrival is seen as part of Radnik’s broader strategy to inject fresh attacking options into their squad as they push to improve their domestic standing.
Ijeoma heads to Europe on the back of a stellar 2024/25 NPFL season, where he scored 12 goals and provided four assists.
His transfer had been in the works since July but was delayed by his participation at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and visa-related issues.
Now fully settled, the Nigerian forward expressed optimism about his new chapter.
“It’s an opportunity for new challenges, and I will make the most of it,” Ijeoma said during his unveiling.
Determined to hit the ground running, he has already committed to learning the local language and adapting quickly to Radnik’s tactical system.
Founded in 1945, FK Radnik Bijeljina is one of Bosnia’s respected clubs, with their crowning achievement being the 2016 Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup triumph, alongside appearances in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
The club plays its home matches at the 6,000-capacity Bijeljina City Stadium, which will now serve as Ijeoma’s new stage.
The Nigerian’s first major tests could come in upcoming fixtures against Borac Banja Luka and NK Široki Brijeg — games that will provide fans with an early glimpse of whether he can replicate his goal-scoring form on European soil.
