OFFICIAL: Glory Ogbonna joins compatriot Vivian Ikechukwu at Turkish club Besiktas

Nigeria international Glory Ogbonna has completed a move from Turkish league leaders ALG Spor to rivals Besiktas until the end of the season.
Besiktas have been monitoring the Super Falcons versatile player for a while as they acquire more active legs in a quest to qualify for the playoffs.
It was a major breakthrough on Friday when Ogbonna was unveiled at the Vodafone Stadium after a successful medical test and she will the jersey number 20 during her stint with the club.
The ace defender had signed a two-year deal with Umeå following her exit from Nigeria Women Footb League side Edo Queens in 2021.
Less than six months into her contract, she parted ways with the Swedish outfit on mutual consent to team up with Spanish side Saint Teresa for the remain of 2021 season before linking up with the Turkish women league champions, ALG Spor Kulűbű on a one-year deal on August 2022 after the expiration of her contract.
During her time at ALG Spor, Ogbonna helped her team to top spot as she featured 10 times registering one goal and two assists.
The former Edo Queens player featured for the Super Falcons in the just concluded Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Coach Suat Okyar who looks to bolster his squad for the remainder of the season requested for Ogbonna who will be teaming up with her compatriot Vivian Ikechukwu.
Reacting to her move, Ogbonna, said: “This is one move i never saw coming, when the offer came, I look at their project and it was wonderful so I decided to key in.
“Besiktas is a good club, they have got ambition, I want to give my all to the club and help them secure the playoffs ticket.”
Beşiktaş Vodafone women’s football team are in 5th position with 20 points and will be banking of their latest acqusition to clinch a top-four finish at the end of the current campaign.
