Waliu Ojetoye has completed a move from Ikorodu City to Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Jerusalem, signing a one-year deal with the club.
The versatile defender, who captained Ikorodu City last season, was instrumental in the team’s solid campaign, earning recognition for his composure, leadership, and reliability at right-back.
Ojetoye’s consistent performances also earned him a call-up to Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN).
However, his move abroad means he will no longer be eligible to participate in the home-based tournament.
The transfer marks a significant step forward in the career of the promising defender, who will now test himself in Israel’s top flight as he looks to further his development on the international stage.
