Sone Aluko, the former Nigeria international, has embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining Ipswich Town’s backroom staff as a First-Team Coach.
This move comes after his retirement from professional football in 2024, following his last game for the Blues.
Ipswich Town officially announced Aluko’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience both in domestic leagues with clubs like Aberdeen, Rangers, Hull City, and Fulham, as well as his international career with Nigeria.
Aluko, 35 years old, played for Ipswich Town from August 2021 to May 2024 before transitioning to coaching.
In his new role, Aluko will collaborate with head coach Kieran McKenna in overseeing first-team activities, bringing his wealth of football knowledge and expertise to Ipswich Town’s coaching staff.
