OFFICIAL: Mahanaim FC seals historic double deal of Haruna, Mohammed to FK Sarajevo

By Dayo Awoniyi

Abuja-based Mahanaim FC has announced a landmark double transfer deal, sending two of its top young prospects — Nigerian midfielder Marcus Haruna and Ivorian talent Yahi Guy Mohammed — to Bosnian giants FK Sarajevo.

Both players, aged 18, have signed three-year contracts with the five-time Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League champions. According to Mahanaim FC, the move marks the first time the club has transferred two players to the same team in a single deal, a milestone it described as “historic.”

Club CEO Simon Alfred praised the agreement as a significant step forward in Mahanaim’s mission to develop and export elite football talent.

“These transfers excite us as a club, having ensured that we stay true to our goals and objectives,” Alfred said.

“We’re happy the boys have taken the next steps after excelling in the values we instilled in them. We’re proud to achieve this piece of history with a respected club like FK Sarajevo.”

Alfred also expressed gratitude to the Bosnian club for its collaboration and faith in Mahanaim FC’s talent development process.

“We thank FK Sarajevo for their trust and patience throughout the process. We look forward to deepening our partnership with them,” he added. “Marcus and Yahi are not only gifted athletes but also exemplary individuals. Everyone at Mahanaim wishes them continued success.”

Mahanaim FC has gained a growing reputation for producing players for Nigeria’s youth national teams, with recent exports including Ahmad Ghali, Haliru Sarki, and Yahaya Lawali.

The latest transfers further underscore the club’s emergence as a key talent hub in West African football.
