Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor appears to have made significant progress in their pursuit of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu from Southampton.

Reports indicate that the Super Eagles forward has agreed to personal terms for another loan move to Trabzonspor, which could become permanent next summer. According to Fanatik, Onuachu is set to return to the Black Sea Storm for the upcoming season.

Despite the loan agreement, Southampton is still holding out for a permanent sale of the towering striker, who has openly expressed his desire to leave the Saints.

Onuachu had a standout season with Trabzonspor last year, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances.

The lanky center forward has also been linked with potential moves to newly promoted Goztepe, as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, and Fenerbahçe.

Onuachu is eagerly awaiting an agreement between Southampton and Trabzonspor before the start of the 2024-2025 season. He joined Southampton from Belgian side Genk in 2023 and still has a contract with the Saints until 2026.
