Official: Victor Olatunji joins Real Salt Lake from Sparta Prague

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake have confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Victor Olatunji from Czech club Sparta Prague.

The 25-year-old has signed a contract running through the 2028 season, with an option for an additional year.

The transfer agreement includes the acquisition of Olatunji’s MLS Discovery Priority rights from D.C. United in exchange for $125,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM), which will be applied in 2026.

Olatunji will wear jersey No. 17 for the Claret-and-Cobalt but must complete formalities before becoming eligible to play.

These include receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the Czech Football Federation and approval of his U.S. P-1 work visa.

“I very much look forward to playing in Utah and in America,” Olatunji said.

“I’ve heard great things about Real Salt Lake—the whole setup inspires me. I’m excited to meet the fans and give everything for the club.”

Once officially cleared, Olatunji will be classified as a Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) player on the 2025 roster. He will be eligible to feature in both MLS regular season matches and Leagues Cup fixtures.

The former Slovan Liberec and Sparta Prague striker becomes the latest addition to RSL’s attacking lineup as the club continues to reinforce ahead of the 2025 season.
