Ola Aina Nominated for Hull City's Man of the Match Award Against Reading

Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, has earned a nomination for the coveted Hull City Man of the Match Award following an impressive display in their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Reading in the English Championship over the weekend. Hull City announced the nomination via their official Twitter account, inviting fans to cast their votes for the standout performer.

Aina, along with fellow Nigerian-born England U-20 World Cup champion, Fikayo Tomori, featured prominently for the full 90 minutes against Reading. Aina’s nomination is a testament to his consistent and impactful performances for Hull, having featured in all nine Championship fixtures since his arrival from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The quartet of nominees also includes Hull’s goal scorer against Reading, former Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell, and the seasoned ex-Arsenal and Sunderland midfielder, Seb Larsson.

Aina’s journey to the Super Eagles squad has been marked by determination and perseverance. Although he was part of the squad that faced Cameroon in the FIFA 2018 World Cup Russia qualifiers, he did not make an appearance. Recently, he successfully secured his switch to represent Nigeria, having previously played for England at the junior level.

This recognition of Aina’s contribution to Hull’s campaign underscores his growing influence on the field and highlights his potential as a significant asset for both club and country. As the voting commences, fans eagerly await the outcome of this closely contested race for the Man of the Match Award.
