Ola Aina Shifts Focus to Ailing Hull City After Super Eagles Duty

Super Eagles and Hull City defender, Ola Aina, has redirected his attention to the struggles of his club, Hull City, following his recent international outings with the Nigerian national team. Aina made his first start for the Super Eagles in their final Group B 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria, which ended in a 1-1 draw in Constantine on November 10. Subsequently, he featured in the team’s impressive 4-2 comeback win against Argentina in Krasnodar, Russia, on Tuesday.

While expressing satisfaction with his performance for the Super Eagles, the 21-year-old Chelsea loanee emphasized that his focus has now shifted back to Hull City, who are grappling with a challenging period in the Championship. Hull City has suffered three consecutive losses in the league, with their last victory recorded as a 1-0 away win against Barnsley on October 21.

Taking to Twitter, Aina shared his reflections on the international break, stating, “Thankful for a good week away with Nigeria. Back to Hull City now.” The struggling club, currently positioned 20th in the 24-team Championship table with 16 points, is set to face Ipswich in their upcoming Championship fixture on Saturday.
