Olisa Ndah: Agent reveals how Nigerian defender missed foreign move

By Wale Mustapha
In a recent revelation, Mike Makab, the agent of Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah, has shed light on how persistent injuries thwarted his client’s dream move abroad.
Ndah, who currently plays for Orlando Pirates in South Africa, was anticipated to secure a move to Serie A and Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs after impressing with the Buccaneers last summer.
However, the 27-year-old has faced challenges in maintaining consistent appearances for the Bucs due to recurring injuries.
Makab highlighted Ndah’s unfortunate situation, stating, “He is very unfortunate. Every time Olisa seems to find his best footing, he ends up with these niggling injuries. Thank God (they are) not serious, but they are disruptive. They disrupt your rhythm as a footballer.”
The agent further revealed that Ndah’s performances attracted genuine interest from clubs outside Nigeria whenever he was fit and performing consistently.
“Let me tell you: When Olisa has been playing and consistently doing well, we’ve had real interest from clubs outside our borders,” Makab told Soccer Laduma.
Ndah, who was part of Nigeria’s Super Eagles squad at the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), has previously played for Remo Stars and Rivers United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) before moving abroad.
