Olisa Ndah retains MTN-8 title with Orlando Pirates

Nigerian defender, Olisa Ndah and his South African team, Orlando Pirates have emerged as champions of the 2023 MTN-8.

The team beat former African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on penalties to retain the title.

Goalkeeper, Sipho Chaine was the hero after saving three penalties during the shoot-out from Bongani Zungu, Junior Mendieta, and Teboho Mokoena.

Deon Hotto, Lesedi Alton Kapinga, and Karim Kimvuidi converted their spot kicks for the Buccaneers.

Ndah who has been out due to injuries since February was introduced in the 34th minute, replacing Nkosinathi Sibisi.

He put up a cool and collected defensive display to help his team to the title.

After crashing out of the CAF Champions League last month, the Buccaneers will now focus on the DSTV Premiership in a bid to pick more points from their outstanding games.

Up next for the Pirates is a league encounter against Polokwane on October 27.
