Osazee Francis Appointed New Chief Coach of Delta Queens

Delta Queens Football Club have appointed Coach Osazee Francis as their new Chief Coach, ahead of the resumption of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season.

The Asaba-based side confirmed that Osazee takes over from Samaila Marwa (Keshi), who began the current campaign with the club but has now been relieved of his duties following a decision by the Delta State Sports Commission, citing issues related to his conduct.

Osazee Francis is no stranger to women’s football in Nigeria. He previously led Edo Queens during the 2020/21 NWFL Premiership Super Six held in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, earning a reputation for his tactical discipline and player development.

Delta Queens currently sit fifth in Group B, having amassed 10 points from seven matches, and will be hoping the coaching change provides renewed momentum when the league resumes on February 18, 2026.

The club last tasted league success at the end of the 2022/23 season, when they lifted the NWFL title on home soil under the guidance of current Rivers Angels head coach, Tosan Blankson.

With Osazee Francis now back in charge, Delta Queens will be targeting a strong second half of the season as they push to climb the table and reassert themselves among Nigeria’s elite women’s teams.
