Osimhen backs Galatasaray to win remaining games, seal third straight Turkish title

By Wale Mustapha

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has expressed confidence that the Turkish giants have the quality and determination to win all their remaining matches and secure a third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title.

The Yellow and Reds extended their lead at the top of the table to six points on Friday night following a 2-0 away victory over third-placed Samsunspor, with Osimhen getting on the scoresheet.

The title race remains a close contest, with Galatasaray’s arch-rivals Fenerbahce set to face Sivasspor on Sunday as they attempt to reduce the deficit.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Osimhen emphasized the team’s collective responsibility and determination to stay focused in the title run-in.

“The focus is on us right now. We have a responsibility as a team. We want to win. We actually have the quality to win every match,” the Nigerian international said.

“It is not easy—we will face very important opponents. We need to be prepared to overcome them and lift this cup at the end of the season. We just need to fight.

“We need to give everything when we step on the field. I think we will have the advantage at the end of the season, but as I said, it will not be easy.”

Osimhen has been in stellar form since joining on loan from Napoli, scoring 29 goals and providing five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

Galatasaray are aiming for their 24th league title and third in a row under head coach Okan Buruk.
