Osinachi Ohale bags assist in Deportivo Alaves loss to Madrid CFF

Nigeria defender Osinachi Ohale had an assist but her effort couldn’t prevent Deportivo Alaves from a 5-1 loss to her former club, Madrid CFF on Saturday.

Ohale set up Sanadri for Alaves’ first goal of the match in the 28th minute but Zambian forward, Rachael Kundananji equalised for the hosts in the additional minutes of the first half.

In the second half, Madrid CFF gained momentum and took the lead in the 56th minute courtesy of Gonzalez Rosa.

Lauren Costa increased the host lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute before Kundananji converted her second goal of the game to make it 4-1 before Lucia Pardo completed the scoring for Madrid CFF in the additional time.

Ohale who featured for the duration of the game has played 18 league games for her team with two unfortunate own goals and an assist. The defeat was the sixth in a row for Ohale and her team in the league this season.

Alaves occupy the basement of the league log with 12 points after 20 games. Ohale and Alaves will hope to end the losing streak against Huelva on March 11, 2023.
