Paris 2024: Babajide, Oshoala and Ajibade swell Nigeria camp to 19 for Ethiopia clash

Five-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year winner, Asisat Oshoala is among the 19 players of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team in camp ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics Games qualifiers against Ethiopia on Wednesday.

Oshoala joined alongside in-form Paris FC goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie and her French-based defender, Stade de Reims’ Tosin Demehin and Rofiat Imuran, as well goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi,  Michelle Alozie, Nicole Payne.

Also in are Toni Payne and Peace Efih, and forwards Uchenna Kanu, Gift Monday, and new entrant Rinsola Babajide on Monday evening ahead of Tuesday training session.

Early birds were Esther Onyenezide, Monle Oyono, Akudo Ogbonna, Jumoke Alani, Comfort Folorunsho and Opeyemi Ajakaye as they were part of Monday training session.

United States of America (USA) based forward, Ifeoma Onumonu is the only player expected in camp.

Tuesday’s official training session will take place at the Abebe Bekila Stadium in the heart of Ethiopia’s capital.

The second round, first leg clash with Ethiopia’s Lucy will take place at the Abebe Bekila Stadium and will kick off at 3.30 pm Ethiopia time (1.30 pm Nigeria time).

The return leg will be held in Abuja on October 31, with the winner of the two-legged encounter facing either Cameroon or Uganda in the Third Round. The 2024 Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11.
