By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Ethiopian women’s national team has opened camp in preparation for the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers with their Nigerian counterparts.

The players resumed camp at Jupiter Hotel in Addis Ababa and have commenced preparation for the clash against the nine-time African champions.

The Lucy’s will be playing the Second Round of the Qualifiers against the Super Falcons with the first leg on October 15 in Addis Ababa and the return leg on October 31 in Abuja.

The East Africans held their first training on Wednesday morning, while they had a light training at the Ethiopian Sports Academy later in the evening.

The team recently invited 25 home-based players for the keenly awaited clash.

Ethiopia has not qualified for the Olympics ahead of the Qualifiers.

The team eliminated Chad in the first round of the series as nine-time African champions Nigeria drew a bye.

Nigeria has qualified for the women’s football event of the Olympics on three occasions in 2000, 2004, and 2008.
