Edo Queens coach, Moses Aduku has hailed the invitation of four players from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership to Nigeria’s senior women’s national team for the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers.

Monle Oyono (Bayelsa Queens), Comfort Folorunsho (Edo Queens), Jumoke Alani (Edo Queens), and Opeyemi Ajakaye (FC Robo Queens) are the four home-based players invited to Super Falcons camp for the fast approaching second round doubleheader against Ethiopia.

The former Bayelsa Queens and Falconets assistant coach said the invitation of four home-based players is a good way to start going forward.

“It’s a good one. I think they are going to represent all the home-based clubs and players,” Aduku told Brila FM.

“I believe that others will hope they can be called up any moment. It’s a good one for the league. I think the important thing now is for them to go and play well.

“Invitation of one thing. It’s another thing to play well. If they are given the opportunity they should play well and represent the league very well.”

The first leg of the Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifiers will be held in Addis Ababa on October 25 and the return leg in Nigeria on October 31.

The Super Falcons played at the Olympics in 2000, 2004, and 2008.

In 2004, the team reached the quarter-final which was their best performance at the women’s football event of the Olympics.
