By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Federation of Cameroon Football (FECAFOOT) has activated some shake-up in the senior women’s national team setup.

The Indomitable Lionesses according to the recent shake-up now have a new Team Manager and physiotherapists, with Mrs Ejangue Siliki replacing Mrs Elong Bebey Yoanne Claude as the Team Manager.

In a statement, the Cameroonian’s football ruling body confirmed that the duo of Mrs Bomba Ombele and Mrs Zebaze Christelle will take the position of the women’s national team Physiotherapists from Mrs Tcheuffa Gwei Magdala and Mekoudjou Komguem Linda Simone.

With the Cameroonians out of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the shake-up is coming ahead of next year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers against their Nigeria counterparts.

A brace by captain Rasheedat Ajibade and one each by Uchenna Kanu and Asisat Oshoala saw the Super Falcons reach the third round of the African qualifiers for next year’s Women’s Olympic Football Tournament on a 5-1 aggregate win over Ethiopia.

Cameroon, on the other hand, overturned a 2-0 defeat in Kampala to defeat Uganda 3-0 after extra time in Yaounde.

The match-up is a repeat of the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-final where Ajibade’s lone goal sealed a win for the nine-time African champions and qualified for the team for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
