Paris 2024: Super Falcons to commence training for Olympics on Sunday

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team will get their preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics underway when they commence training in Sevilla, Spain on Sunday, Nigeriafootball.ng

The nine-time African champions had earlier landed in Spain for camping this week on Friday.

An inside source informed, NigeriaFootball.ng that ten players are currently in camp with preparation set to start earnestly on Sunday.

Randy Waldrum’s side will try their might against Olympic Champions, Canada in an international friendly match before jetting out for Paris.

The nine-time African champions are up against world champions, Spain, Japan, and Brazil in Group C.

Super Falcons have been able to win just one match in their three appearance.

They hope to correct that feat with at the women’s football event of the Olympics.

Nigeria who are playing in the football event of the Olympics for the first time in 16 years, are in Group C  alongside heavyweights Spain and Brazil and Asian side Japan. 

They will start their Paris 2024 campaign against Brazil on July 25. Once done, they square up against the Spaniards three days later before locking horns with Japan on July 31.
