Patrick Pascal: Former Nigeria star blames fans for dwindling Super Eagles’ fortunes

Former Nigeria International, Patrick Pascal has accused Nigerian football fans of being impatient and so might miss out on seeing the national team return to its glory days.

Olympic Gold medalist believes impatient fans and their interference is the reason why Super Eagles aren’t  soaring.
The Bauchi-born football administrator noted that fans, just like the players, need to look to the future as the Bauchi Football Association chairman hopes the mistakes that cost the team a place in Qatar.
“Here we complain and force Coaches out. We had a chance to what Senegal is doing with Cisse, with Keshi, but he was gone after the AFCON,” Pascal told FL.
“When there’s little or no interference even Coaches will need full focus, indeed things can turn around in Nigerian football.”
He explained that there is the important factor of having a proper factor in place and making everything work together to develop the sport in the country.
“Morocco had a long-term plan for the development of football in the country and is now looking to host major tournaments in world football,” he added.
“If coaches are given time to settle down and work out a system, it’s beneficial in the long run just as Senegal is enjoying with Aliou Cisse.”
