Paul Onuachu dreams Jupiler league title with Genk before leaving Belgium
By Wale Mustapha
Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu is harbouring dreams of leaving the Belgian topflight with domestic crown.
Genk are holding a seven-point lead on top of the table after seeing off their bitter rivals, Club Brugge in the Sunday’s meeting.
Onuachu scored one of the goals in the recent 3-1 win and the Super Eagles striker has warned his club side against complacency in the race for the Jupiler Pro League title.
“Of course we are chasing the title, but we do realize that anything can still happen, seven points ahead of Union Saint Gilloise that could soon be reversed in the play-offs,” Onuachu told media.
“I want to leave here as a champion. Look, if a big league comes knocking after this season, I definitely want to try something different.”
The victory over Brugge on Sunday has seen Genk opened a 15 points gap and the 28-year-old Super Eagles striker now has 14 goals in 16 league matches this season.
