Paul Onuachu Hails Super Eagles’ Unity After Dominant Win Over Mozambique

Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu has praised Nigeria’s collective performance following their emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique, a result that sealed qualification for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking after the Round of 16 encounter in Fès, Onuachu highlighted the team’s unity, intensity, and clinical edge in front of goal, describing the display as a complete team effort.

“It’s a good game. The group played a good game. The team played a good game,” the striker said, reflecting the confidence and harmony within the Nigerian camp after the commanding win.

Onuachu also stressed the difficulty of scoring freely at the Africa Cup of Nations, noting that Nigeria’s four-goal haul underlined the quality of the Super Eagles’ attacking performance.

“Four goals. It’s not easy to score four goals in this AFCON tournament, but to see four goals like that is amazing from the boys,” he added.

Nigeria’s goals came through Ademola Lookman, who opened the scoring, Victor Osimhen’s brace, and Akor Adams, who rounded off the rout late in the second half to register his maiden AFCON goal.

Onuachu reserved special praise for Adams, commending both his goal and his overall contribution to the team.

“He is amazing, he’s everywhere. I’m happy for him that he finally got his goal,” Onuachu said. “He is a hard worker, he works for the team and for his fellow players. I’m really happy for him.”

The victory not only secured Nigeria’s place in the last eight but also marked their first clean sheet of the tournament, further boosting belief within the squad as they continue their push for continental glory.

With confidence growing and momentum firmly on their side, the Super Eagles will now shift focus to the quarter-finals against Algeria, determined to build on their impressive form at AFCON 2025.
