Peter Olayinka brands Victor Osimhen “omo lile” amid Finidi George’s fallout

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international and Red Star Belgrade forward, Peter Olayinja has branded Victor Osimhen “omo lile” following a recent online fallout with Finidi George.

Reigning African Player of the Year, Osimhen has been a hot topic for his off-pitch action after going on IG live to blast now-retired Super Eagles coach, Finidi George.

Olayinka, who made his Super Eagles debut in 2019 and part of the Africa Cup of Nations squad in Cameroon where Nigeria lost to Tunisia in the Round of 16, teamed up with Napoli star Victor Osimhen and Al-Fayha forward Henry Onyekuru who were on vacation in Nigeria.

While many have been scolding Osimhen for his action and imploring him to tender an open apology to the legend, Olayinka branded Osimhen ‘Omo Lile’ as they posed for pictures.

However, Olayinka has been out of the national team picture recently due to the emergence of younger talents like Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Victor Boniface.

Consequently, the 28-year-old was not picked by Super Eagles manager Finidi George for the World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.

Olayinka joined Red Star Belgrade last season as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic and he is set to be on his way out again.

He contributed 11 goals and four assists as Red Star Belgrade won the league and cup to complete the domestic double.

He was also a part of their UEFA Champions League campaign although were knocked out at the group stage.
