Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has once again celebrated a successful season with Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, securing his second consecutive domestic double in the 2024/25 campaign.
Red Star, former European Cup champions, dominated the Serbian football scene by clinching both the Serbian SuperLiga and the Serbian Cup titles, further cementing their legacy in the region.
The team wrapped up the SuperLiga season with a commanding 27-point advantage over arch-rivals Partizan Belgrade, marking their 11th league crown—the most in Serbian SuperLiga history.
Continuing their dominance, Red Star delivered a decisive 3-0 victory against Vojvodina in the Serbian Cup final, capturing their fifth consecutive Cup title.
Olayinka’s contribution, however, was limited due to a major Achilles tendon injury sustained in October, which sidelined him for eight months.
He managed only 11 appearances across all competitions, recording two goals and two assists. Although he was fit enough to be on the bench for the Serbian Cup final, he did not feature on the pitch.
Despite these challenges, Olayinka remains an integral part of Red Star’s ambitions, and his timely return signals hope for a strong comeback next season.
