Raphinha has developed from a peripheral attacking option into one of Barcelona’s most influential players against Real Madrid under Hansi Flick, with his latest goal highlighting the dramatic change in his record in the Clasico.

The Brazil forward scored during Sunday’s meeting at Spotify Camp Nou in the 10th round of the Spanish league, continuing his impressive run in one of football’s biggest fixtures.

Barcelona’s equaliser came in the 61st minute after a corner from the right. The ball eventually returned to Pedri, who sent a precise pass through the Real Madrid defence and into Raphinha’s path inside the penalty area.

Raphinha controlled the opportunity before shooting through the legs of Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham and into the net, sparking celebrations among the home supporters and bringing Barcelona level.

The goal also underlined the extent of Raphinha’s transformation in encounters with Barcelona’s traditional rivals since Flick took charge.

According to figures published by specialist statistics account Mr Chip, Raphinha has played 14 Clasicos, split equally between the period before Flick’s arrival and the German manager’s tenure.

In his first seven appearances against Real Madrid, Raphinha failed to score and recorded only one assist.

His record has changed completely in the subsequent seven matches under Flick. During that period, he has scored eight goals and supplied two assists.

The figures illustrate the significant improvement in Raphinha’s attacking influence when facing Barcelona’s biggest domestic rivals. Rather than simply providing an option in the forward line, he has become a decisive threat in the contests between the two clubs.

His latest effort added another important contribution to a growing record and reinforced Raphinha’s status as one of the main attacking weapons available to Barcelona in their rivalry with Real Madrid.
