Rasheedat Ajibade bags four goals as Atletico Madrid thrash Sporting Huelva

Nigeria international Rasheedat Ajibade scored four goals, opening her goals account for the season as Atletico Madrid thrashed Sporting Huelva 5-0 in the Spanish topflight encounter on Saturday.
Ajibade who captained Nigeria during a 2-0 defeat to Japan last week in an international friendly returned to to action with her Spanish club in a breathtaking fashion, netting four goals for the first time in her professional career.
Ajibade opened scoring for the host in the 27th minute and after the restart, went on to double Atletico Madrid’s lead in the 51st minute while Brazil’s Ludmila increased the host’s lead to three in the 70th minute from the penalty spot.
Former FC Robo Queens and Avaldnes forward scored two more goals for her side in the 88th and 91st minute to seal a 5-0 win for the Capital club.
Ajibade played for the duration of the game as she scored four goals in four games with all four coming in the game against Huelva after firing blanks in her previous three league games.
She scored 12 league goals for Norwegian Topserien side, Avaldnes over two seasons before joining Atletico Madrid.
In her first season at Atletico Madrid, she only scored a goal in the league before bagging ten in 23 league games at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
The win ensured that Atletico Madrid occupy the third position on the Spanish Liga table with nine points after four games.
Atletico Madrid has won the previous three of its four games, losing 2-1 to Levante UD and will next face local rivals Madrid CFF in a Spanish league encounter on October 22.
