By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria forward, Rasheedat Ajibade is optimistic that her national side will get a good result when they play co-hosts, Australia in their second game of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Super Falcons picked a hard-fought point from their first game in last Thursday’s goalless draw against Canada in Melbourne and will now aim for a valuable result against Australia at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane to keep their hope of qualification past the group stage alive.
And the Atletico Madrid striker whose goal sealed Nigeria qualification to this year’s tournament will be making her return to the team against the Matildas from a two-match suspension.
“It’s going to be a difficult game playing against the host country in a very big stadium against a huge crowd”, Ajibade told NFF TV.
“We are going to play against a lot of factors, but we’ve got this. We have done it against big teams, so I trust the whole team.
“Also, We have the capacity, we have the energy, we have the talent, and we have the strength. We just have to bring out our A-game.”
