Rasheedat Ajibade promises to make kits donation annually to grassroot

Nigeria star, Rasheedat Ajibade has vowed to donate football kits to the grassroot annually.

The Atletico Madrid player put smiles on the faces of some grassroots players by donating football boots to them to aid their promising career.

The former Robo Queens captain described the donation as an act of giving back to the grassroots, where she started her career and also supporting the young players achieve their dreams.

“I think for me everything is to the glory of God, it’s not for me to take glory over anything I’m doing but it’s just my passion to see that I come back to my grassroots club or my alma mater to give back,” Ajibade told Nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.

“I know what it feels like to come from an environment that doesn’t give you an advantage and how you struggle to get the basic needs to survive, it’s really difficult so we do this for a reason to lift other people up.”

The 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations joint-topscorer and Atletico Madrid’s 2022-23 topscorer gave assurance on doling out football kits to the grassroots annually with the right support.

“It’s something I will be willing to do every year as long as God helps me to achieve it and empower me. I really want to make sure that I give back to the community, I support my grassroots team and people around me,” she continued.

“I want to do it annually and it’s just about having the right mentality and support.  I wish to do more, I wish to support the team and environment I came from more because I understand how difficult it is to survive in this environment more.”

Ajibade have engaged in series of philanthropic gesture in the past as some months ago, she gave ten less privilege students scholarship to advance their education.
