Reading Manager Jaap Stam Expresses Interest in Nigerian Forward Sone Aluko

Reading manager Jaap Stam has officially confirmed his keen interest in the 28-year-old Nigerian forward, Sone Aluko, who currently plies his trade at Fulham within the English Championship. While speculation has swirled around Aluko’s potential transfer to Reading during the ongoing transfer window, no concrete deal has been established between the two Championship clubs.

Stam, a football legend renowned for his contributions to Manchester United’s historic treble-winning season in 1999, has openly expressed his desire to acquire the services of the former Flying Eagles’ star from the 2009 U-20 World Cup.

“We’re always on the lookout for players who can elevate our team,” Stam revealed during an interview with the Reading Chronicle. “Nelson Oliveira is a formidable striker, and he has the potential to be a significant asset for us. The same holds true for Aluko. He possesses the qualities that can enhance our squad and offer a fresh dimension. However, the final decision does not rest with me.”

Intriguingly, Aluko was conspicuously absent from Fulham’s recent 2-0 victory over Ipswich, a situation attributed to a hip injury. This has only added to the suspense surrounding his potential transfer to Reading, leaving fans and pundits alike eagerly awaiting further developments in the ongoing transfer saga.
