Real Sociedad considering United Arab Emirates as Sadiq Umar’s potential destination
By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Real Sociedad are weighing up the possibility of sending Sadiq Umar to the United Arab Emirates, with the Nigerian striker emerging as a candidate for a late move before the Gulf state’s transfer window closes.

Although he has recently resumed training with the first-team squad, the club has not completely ruled out his departure, keeping the door open to a potential deal in one of the few markets still active.

According to Marca, Sociedad are hopeful that an agreement can still be reached with the UAE market offering a two-week window of opportunity before its October 2 deadline.

For now, Umar has reintegrated into full training at Zubieta, marking one of the most notable developments in Sergio Francisco’s recent sessions after weeks of working separately to regain peak fitness.

Despite this progress, the striker’s chances of playing a role appear slim, as Francisco had already signaled during preseason that Umar does not feature in his long-term plans.

For both Real Sociedad and Umar, the Gulf market represents the final realistic chance to secure an exit.

Should no deal materialize, the Kaduna-born forward faces the prospect of being sidelined in San Sebastián until at least January, when the winter window reopens.
