Remo Stars, Enyimba to meet 22/23 Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six opener

Remo Stars and Enyimba will face each other in the opening match of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six in Lagos on Saturday.
The NPFL Super Six will see the two teams that qualified from Group A square up, following Friday’s draw ceremony and unveiling of a new logo for the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) at GTI Corporate Headquarters in Lagos.
Remo Stars during the regular season got the better of Finidi George’s side in two legs, recording its second win over the Aba-based side in the league.
The Sky Blue Stars edged the People’s Elephants 1-0 in the first match at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne and Daniel Ogunmodede’s side almost earned a precious away win in the return leg in Aba before being denied a late effort.
Both teams qualified for the Super Six from Group A behind group leaders, Bendel Insurance at the end of the regular season.
The game will kick off by 2:00 pm before Sunshine Stars clash against Rivers United by 4:00 pm, while the last tie of the opening matchday of the Super Six will see unbeaten Bendel Insurance trade tackle with Lobi Stars.
The winner of the league at the end of the Super Six will represent Nigeria alongside the runners-up at the CAF Champions League.
The third-placed team and Federation Cup winners will play at the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup.
Rangers International and Bendel Insurance will play the Federation Cup final in Asaba after the conclusion of the NPFL Super Six.
