‘RIP football icon’ – NFF and Nigerians pay glowing tributes to Brazilian star Pele

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has led tributes on social media as Nigerians join the world of stars to pen heartfelt goodbye message following the demise of Brazilian and World football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele, who died at the age of 82.
His death was announced on Thursday evening, December 29, 2022, having suffered from a series of health issues in recent years, most recently after being diagnosed with cancer in September 2021.
“We express our sorrow following the sad passing of football icon and Brazilian great Edson Arantes Do Nascimento ‘Pele.’ We mourn his demise with the rest of the football family worldwide and the Brazilian football family in particular. May his soul rest in peace.” – NFF
