Head Coach Tosan Blankson of Rivers Angels has disclosed how he inspired his team to secure a victory over Delta Queens through a promise of a cash reward.

In a commanding performance, Rivers Angels triumphed over Delta Queens with a score of 3-0 in the South-South derby, highlighted by a remarkable hat-trick from Mary Moses.

The match, part of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership 12th round of fixtures, met expectations, showcasing the skills of both teams at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

Blankson lauded his players for their impressive performance, crediting their achievement to his incentive of N100,000 for a win against Delta Queens.

“It was challenging to motivate the players following our loss in Lagos. They put in tremendous effort, seized their opportunities, and converted them into goals,” he stated.

He also praised Moses for her hard work and dedication, remarking, “She is a player who is willing to put in the effort, and any player who is committed will ultimately find success.”

With her hat-trick, Moses has now reached a total of 10 goals, making her one of the top scorers in the league. Rivers Angels are set to face Bayelsa Queens in Yenagoa next Wednesday.
